There was a program on the History channel last night on "The Last Stand of the 300" which I watched, being at my union's school in Dania Beach, with access to a TV and no desire to go out. I'm also reworking my way through Victor Davis Hanson's "A War like no other War" which, though about the Peloponnesian War, describes the actual tactics, armor, etc. of the Greek hoplite.
Which means I'm totally ready to see 300 on Saturday.
